Star Wars Invades Vienna

Vienna will have an opportunity to enjoy to get to know Star Wars more as it hosts a unique exhibition. Entitled “Star Wars Identities, the exhibit gives the people of Vienna a chance to experience the hit movies of George Lucas.

On display at the exhibition at the MAK are collections from the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Chicago. It opened last December 17 just in time for the global launch of the Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.”

Among those displayed are the original objects from the classic trilogy that dates back to 1977 to 1983, the prequel trilogy (1999-2005) up to the animation film Star Wars: The Clone Wars released in 2008. These objects include props, models, costumes, artworks as well as life-size models of the famous characters such as Darth Vader, R2-D2 and Yoda. Background information is also provided on the popular figures and how they were developed through the years.

Interestingly, the exhibit is divided into three themed areas. These are the Original, Influences and Decisions all of which aim to look into the 10 components of identity.

Since 1977, the six Star Wars films have earned more than US$4.3 million worldwide.
