Wiener Wiesn Festival

Move over, Oktoberfest. Vienna is giving Munich’s world-renowned beer festival a run for its money with its very own, featuring the wide variety of Austrian beers and many more. Started last year, the Wiener Wiesn Festival was such a resounding success that the organizers are bringing it back this year.

From a three day-festival, this year the event will take place for 11 days from September 27th to October 7th at the fun-filled Prater Park in Kaiserwiese. There will be three marquees, 99 concerts and over 250 hours of music, fun, entertainment, food & beverages – the perfect recipe for a good time in Vienna this fall. Highlights of the Wiener Wiesn Fest include daily hearty brunches served at the Festival Barn where sumptuous traditional Austrian fare can be enjoyed with live folk music and even a sing along with top local brass bands.

In the afternoons is the Vienna Oktoberfest Festival Fun with more live folk music from top acts to be enjoyed in the tents. Some of the bands that will be performing are local favorites Edlseer, March Pircher and Alpenrebellen. When night falls, the party gets amped up with party bands like Saubartin, Hermes House Band, Jurgen Drews, Steirerbluat and many more playing until 2:30 the next morning.

To make the most of the beer festival experience, those who are interested are encouraged to purchase a ticket to the tents. There will also be entertainment to be offered outside the tents along with food and beer sold in stalls.
